RAKTAMOKSHANA
Rakta means blood and mokshana is letting. Raktamokshana is an effective blood purification therapy, in which carefully controlled removal of small quantities of blood diseased area of body is conducted to neutralise accumulated Pitta toxins of many blood-borne diseases.
Leech application
The application of leeches to suck the impure blood locally from a body part is called Jalaukavacharan in Ayurved. It is a type of blood-letting technique performed under all aseptic precautions. The area is cleaned and leech applied. After a specific time, the leech gets detached and the wound is compressed.

How it works
Leech is capable of sucking blood up to 20ml from the affected and surrounding area. The accumulated toxins
and impurities are also drained along with the sucked blood. This helps in healing the affected part.
Phase 1 Ashwasanam
“पुरुषं पुरुषं विक्ष्य” which means, every individual have their unique characteristics which includes physical build, tolerance, digestive power , ennvironmental & eating habits . Based on the personal requirement of the body, we advise a specific detox treatment. At this stage proper consulting and counselling of individual is done to make them aware of detox procedure .
Phase 2 Shodhanam
Detox procedures are conducted in following steps to achieve the aim of healthy body and mind. 1. Snehanam –includes centripetal oleation which helps to liquefy the toxins improve circulation, relieves dryness and coarseness of skin 2. Deepan & Pachan – Improve metabolism 3. Swedanam – Incorporate therapeutic sweating 4. Detoxification – where the actual procedure is conducted to eliminate the toxins from body .
Phase 3 Shamana or Paschatkarma
Correct the defects through medicines, moderate treatments, appropriate diet, and activities followed by Rasayan Chikitsa.
Contraindications
Acute infections, haemophilia, leukemia, Low BP, anemia, pregnancy, fever etc.
Recommended in
Skin diseases, acne, abscess, diabetic foot etc. It is mainly indicated in Pitta disorders.

3. Herpes zoster, discoloration of skin, Pigmentation, Scars, Wound, Inflammations.

5. Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Gouty arthritis, Psoriatic arthritis.
6. Pain, Urmia, Sciatica, Abscess.
