Pinda Sweda Kizhi - Pottali Steam (Local/Whole Body)

PINDA SWEDA is a Sanskrit word, but the treatment is popularly known as Kizhi meaning poultice in Malayalam. PINDA SWEDA is a full body treatment performed using heated and therapeutic bags (potali’s) containing medicines. Gentle stroke and Ayurvedic pummelling techniques form the basis of PINDA SWEDA.

1. Patra pinda in which Warm oil, herbal medicinal extracts or powders present in potali’s stimulates, strengthens, rejuvenates, and nourishes the body. Along with this, soothing massage of herbal products and therapeutics present in bags exfoliates the skin and stimulates pores and improves skin tone.

2. Shashtishali pinda - is a unique Ayurveda therapy using a special variety of Indian rice in a bolus, dipped in a nourishing herbal milk decoction and massaged onto the body.popularly known as Navara Kizhi It is of two types

How it works

It helps to reduce Vata dosha. It is very helpful in blood- related Vata disorders. Most of the herbs used are

strengthening.

Phase 1 Ashwasanam

“पुरुषं पुरुषं विक्ष्य” which means, every individual have their unique characteristics which includes physical build, tolerance, digestive power , ennvironmental & eating habits . Based on the personal requirement of the body, we advise a specific detox treatment. At this stage proper consulting and counselling of individual is done to make them aware of detox procedure .

Phase 2 Shodhanam

Detox procedures are conducted in following steps to achieve the aim of healthy body and mind. 1. Snehanam –includes centripetal oleation which helps to liquefy the toxins improve circulation, relieves dryness and coarseness of skin 2. Deepan & Pachan – Improve metabolism 3. Swedanam – Incorporate therapeutic sweating 4. Detoxification – where the actual procedure is conducted to eliminate the toxins from body .

Phase 3 Shamana or Paschatkarma

Correct the defects through medicines, moderate treatments, appropriate diet, and activities followed by Rasayan Chikitsa.

Contraindications

Pitta Prakruti with a heat-sensitive body, and skin diseases like eczema and psoriasis.
