Home – Treatment – Pinda Sweda Kizhi
PINDA SWEDA is a Sanskrit word, but the treatment is popularly known as Kizhi
meaning poultice in Malayalam. PINDA SWEDA is a full body treatment performed
using heated and therapeutic bags (potali’s) containing medicines. Gentle stroke and
Ayurvedic pummelling techniques form the basis of PINDA SWEDA.
1. Patra pinda in which Warm oil, herbal medicinal extracts or powders present
in potali’s stimulates, strengthens, rejuvenates, and nourishes the body. Along
with this, soothing massage of herbal products and therapeutics present in
bags exfoliates the skin and stimulates pores and improves skin tone.
2. Shashtishali pinda - is a unique Ayurveda therapy using a special variety of
Indian rice in a bolus, dipped in a nourishing herbal milk decoction and
massaged onto the body.popularly known as Navara Kizhi

It helps to reduce Vata dosha. It is very helpful in blood- related Vata disorders. Most of the herbs used are
strengthening.
